Using headphones? Keep your phone volume low: the radio has a locked limiter, but your phone volume sits after it. Each mission sets the radio up wrong. Fix it, make a test transmission where asked, then press SUBMIT. Scoring checks what your radio actually transmitted, not just where the knobs sit.

Choose what goes into the microphone when you press PTT. Set LISTEN to THEM to hear yourself the way the other station does. Try normal speech, then shout, then turn MIC GAIN up and watch the ALC meter and the spectrum.
